Hello Families, 

Today in ELA we did a check-in of our letter sounds, heart words and sentence writing. We did some writing on things we see in the fall. We made sure we had finger spaces between each word, sentences start with a capital letter and have a period at the end of our sentences.

In math, we learned about teen numbers. We showed the number 11 in different ways including - 10 frames, tally marks and base 10 blocks. 

In art today, we started a pumpkin art. We will continue the art tomorrow. We can't wait to show you! 

Halloween 

Students are invited to wear their Halloween costumes in the afternoon on Tuesday October 31.  Students will put on their costumes after gym tomorrow.  We will be doing a pumpkin activity in the morning and fun centres in the afternoon. 

Veterans Food Bank

The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary is a service provided by CALGARY VETERANS SERVICES SOCIETY, founded in August 2018, to serve food security and other resource needs of veterans from Calgary and surrounding area. The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary supports veterans who served in all branches of the Canadian Armed Forces, Reserves and first responders.

Copperfield School will be collecting food donations starting on October 30 through until November 8, 2023. If you can donate food items, it would be greatly appreciated. Items that are urgently needed are canned meats and chili/stew, ground coffee, flour, cereal, Kleenex, pudding cups, canned mushrooms, juice boxes, granola bars, cookies, rice, pancake mix, hamburger helper, plastic wrap, toilet paper, mac and cheese, and spices.
