November 30th. New readings sent home, and sharing of traditions begin tomorrow!

Today was the last day for Circle of Me until January. Gurseerat and Lochlan finished with their estimation jars.

Mr. Graham's class went outside for gym to learn Indigenous games while Mrs. Nish's class played games inside the gymnasium. Next week we go back to normal gym schedule.

We had art today and we wrote about what we liked most about different pieces by an Indigenous Canadian artist.

In ELA we practiced our "L" blends. Such as Flag, Blog, Flat, Glad.

*New poems/reading practice sheets have been added to red folders and sent home. If you still have yours at home and want new ones, please send them back with your child. Otherwise, you can continue to reread what is still in there! Practice Practice Practice!!! 20 min of any sort of reading a day will help your child become stronger readers. Read before bed, or during when you make dinner, or when you eat, or have an older sibling read to them! Those tickets we send home can be signed whether you read from the red folder or if you are reading any sort of story! If you do not have a ticket but still read, you can sign a scrap piece of paper and send it to school with your child.

*** Tomorrow we will begin looking at traditions for the month of December. You should have received the letter at Parent/Teacher Conferences. If you have any tradition you take part in or your child takes part in specifically, please send us a picture (or item) and we will be sharing with the class.
Example: -Every year, your child puts a specific ornament on the Christmas tree.
              - We have big feasts for Ramadan (one of these dishes is your child's favourite!)
               - Every summer you go camping to the same place!
               - Family dinners on Sunday's are your tradition
